Flick reaches 100 Barcelona wins with the best win rate of any coach in club history
A 6-1 rout of Alavés gave Hansi Flick his 100th win as Barcelona coach. It also ended a run of two straight defeats just before a demanding week.
Flick’s century of victories places him among the club’s most successful coaches.
Luis Enrique left the club with 138 wins from 181 games.
Two full seasons of 44 wins built the record
The milestone rests on remarkable consistency. Flick won 44 matches in 2024-25 and another 44 in 2025-26, Goal reported. He has added 12 wins in 14 official games so far in 2026-27.
The defeats have been rare. Across his 131 official matches, Barcelona have lost 21 times and drawn 10 times. This season’s only two losses came against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Real Madrid in LaLiga.
Those two results arrived back to back, which made the Alavés game more than a routine fixture. After the Clásico defeat, president Joan Laporta used the Ballon d’Or ceremony to call Flick the perfect coach for Barcelona. Laporta also said the club’s ambitions had not changed.
The response on the pitch was emphatic. Raphinha and Lamine Yamal both scored in the first half. Yamal added his second in the 65th minute from a Gabriel Jesus pass. Mariano scored Alavés’ only goal after a defensive error.
Flick played down the personal side afterward. He said he knew it would be his 100th win, but that the team mattered more after two defeats. Asked to choose one win from the hundred, he picked his first Clásico victory.
A thin defense faces Aston Villa and Atlético
Flick said the injuries in his back line meant the team had to think differently. He added that he would not take any risks with the injured players.
Before the Alavés game, the club listed Jules Koundé, Xavi Espart, Eric Garcia, Dani Olmo, Andreas Christensen and Roony Bardghji as unavailable. On October 18, the club said Eric Garcia had a right thigh injury and would be out for an estimated three to four weeks. It also confirmed that Koundé had sprained his left ankle.
That leaves Flick reshaping his back line against two demanding opponents.
Barcelona host Aston Villa at Spotify Camp Nou on Tuesday, November 3, at 21:00 in Champions League matchday 4. They then visit Atlético Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Sunday, November 8, at 21:00 in LaLiga matchday 12.
