Hansi Flick has confirmed that Raphinha will miss tomorrow's La Liga clash against Getafe, along with the Champions League encounter against Galatasaray, with the Brazilian still troubled by pain in his right leg.

Sport newspaper carried the Barcelona manager's comments from his press conference, where he confirmed the forward would be handled cautiously to avoid a fresh setback.

Flick said: "Raphinha's injury is not serious, but it must nonetheless be taken into account, because he has suffered many injuries, and we must look after him. He will not be available tomorrow nor against Galatasaray."

The Brazilian skipped the group work during Barcelona's final session before the Getafe game. He came out onto the pitch ahead of his team-mates and completed individual training on his own.

His absence is a blow to Flick's plans. Even so, the German defended the decision to let the forward join up with Brazil.

Flick explained: "It is the national team, and everyone wants to play for their country. That is Raphinha's mentality. We cannot change the match schedules."

He continued: "There is enormous pressure on the players. We have to accept the situation as it is. It is not the best, nor the ideal situation, but I cannot change it. I have to manage the number of minutes the players play."

On Spain, he added: "I like what I see when I follow the Spanish national team, whether in terms of performance or how the playing minutes are distributed. The relationship between us is very good. Spain are the best team in the world, and I like watching them play."

Asked how he might cover the loss of Raphinha, Flick pointed to Gabriel Jesus as a candidate to come into the starting line-up against Getafe.

Flick revealed his thinking, saying: "Does Jesus start? That is the idea. He has improved a great deal, and he fits our style. He is performing very well, I like him, and he is ready."
