Cristiano in the picture: Mbappe on the verge of a historic achievement with Real Madrid

A remarkable scoring rate for Kylian with Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappé edged closer to a fresh milestone at Real Madrid on Sunday, finding the net against Barcelona in the Clásico at the Camp Nou in the tenth round of the Spanish league.

The France striker opened the scoring in the 41st minute, and he owed it to a slice of luck. Gerard Martín's ball cannoned off his foot before nestling into the Catalans' net.

That goal takes Mbappé to 99 for Real Madrid across all competitions in the 116 games he has played since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024, according to Marca. Marca

The Spanish newspaper added: "To place this achievement in a comparative context with another extraordinary goalscorer, we find that Cristiano Ronaldo reached his hundredth goal after playing 105 matches".

Ronaldo hit the mark on 2 November, during his third season with Los Blancos, which mirrors Kylian's situation.
