Celta Vigo midfielder Ilaix Moriba is expected to feature against Celtic in Thursday night’s Europa League clash despite his home being targeted by burglars.

The 23-year-old was in Glasgow preparing for the European encounter at Parkhead when criminals reportedly broke into his unoccupied property in Nigran, near Vigo.

According to reports in Spain, money and valuable jewellery were stolen during the incident, with the total value of the theft believed to be substantial.

It is understood to be the fourth burglary of its kind in the area in recent weeks, although Spain’s Civil Guard have yet to confirm the exact value of the items stolen.

Despite the unsettling incident, Moriba remains available for selection and is expected to start against Martin O’Neill’s side on Thursday evening.

The Guinea international has been an ever-present for Celta Vigo this season and remains an important figure in their midfield.

Moriba, who previously played for Barcelona, completed a £6million move from RB Leipzig last year.

Celtic will be hoping to secure their first Europa League points of the campaign after suffering successive defeats to Ferencvaros and Benfica.
