Barcelona target a number of promising players

Barcelona's scouting department continues to track the brightest young talents in European football, and this time the focus is on the British capital, London.

According to the English website "TEAMtalk", Josh King, the 19-year-old Fulham player, has entered the Catalan club's radar. Two goals in five matches have caught the eye of Barcelona's officials.

Barcelona are only the latest to join a long list of clubs chasing King. The English sides, represented by Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, lead this "battle", followed by Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Leipzig and Inter Milan, and finally Barça, according to the Catalan newspaper "Sport".

King is tied to Fulham until 2029, which hands the London club a comfortable negotiating position should any of the interested parties come knocking. For now, though, reports confirm Fulham have no wish to sell.

Their poor start in the Premier League offers a glimmer of hope to the clubs circling. Relegation would raise the chances of a summer deal, with the player likely to seek out a more ambitious project.

Who is Josh King?

Born in 2007, King joined Fulham aged just eight and spent more than a decade at the club. He didn't break into the first team until 2024.

Amid Fulham's struggles in the transfer market, King seized his chance and nailed down a regular spot in Alvaro Arbeloa's side. Deployed as a playmaker, he has racked up 427 minutes and two goals in just five matches, winning over his teammates and becoming a key piece in the Spanish coach's plans.

The names tipped for the Blaugrana's future keep coming. King is simply the latest, one more on a list that has swelled in recent weeks to take in the likes of Lucas Herrington of Colorado Rapids (19 years old), Niko Ilicevic (15 years old) and Cavan Sullivan of Philadelphia Union (17 years old), according to "Sport".
