A painful blow: Espart's absence period shocks Barcelona

A fresh setback for Flick

Barcelona have been dealt a fresh blow. Xavi Espart has injured his right ankle, with scans confirming the damage after he picked up the knock in the clash with Real Madrid.

According to the club, the examinations revealed an injury to the joint connecting the ankle bones, the result of a collision with an opposition player during the Clasico.

Espart faces around seven weeks on the sidelines. Barcelona will have to cope without him while he works through his treatment and rehabilitation programme before he can return to training and feature in matches again.
