Rangers' Europa League qualification hopes are in tatters as they prepare for their penultimate league stage showdown at home to Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad.

The Glasgow giants have one point to show from six previous outings but Danny Rohl's men are on a roll domestically and the head coach would doubtless love to take a win into Sunday's huge home game against Dundee in the Premiership.

Team news

New signings Andreas Skov Olsen, Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens, plus Clinton Nsiala, Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo are all ineligible for Rangers.

The Light Blues are also without Dujon Sterling and Connor Barron, though Oliver Antman has recovered from illness.

Ludogorets are still missing key Swedish defenders Edvin Kurtulus and Joel Andersson, plus Guinea midfielder Aguibou Camara, who have all recently undergone surgery.

Two new Brazilian arrivals, left-back Vinicius Nogueira and forward Rwan Cruz, have not been registered.

The stats

Rangers have one point from six games, that lone draw coming from November's 1-1 with Braga.

Ludogorets have played 14 matches in Europe this season, winning only four of them.

They have seven points in the Europa League courtesy of wins at Malmo (2-1) and at home to Celta Vigo (3-2).

Rangers are on a six-game winning streak, most recently thrashing Annan 5-0 in the Scottish FA Cup.

Bulgarian champions Ludogorets are third this season after 19 rounds and ended 2025 on a seven-game unbeaten run (W5, D2).

Prediction

Rangers will not be going into the next stage of the Europa League but they are well worth backing to finally get a win on the board at home to Ludogorets.

This looks like a good time to be playing the Bulgarian champs, who are third in their top division this season and have not played a competitive game since December 19.

Per-Mathias Hogmo's side have flown into Scotland straight from a training camp in Turkey, minus a couple of key defenders and might not be at their sharpest.

On seven points from six games, their own qualification fate is in their own hands and they will feel that if they can control the tempo and take the sting out of a resurgent Rangers, then a dull draw would set them up nicely for next week's home game against rock-bottom Nice.

The problem, however, is that Ludogorets are a mess defensively.

They have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight Europa League fixtures this season and will simply hope that Rohl's men go through the motions.

But the German has made it clear he wants a win for self-respect if nothing else, while it would also extend their winning streak to seven matches, and that is a run that would give them an almighty lift heading into Sunday's visit from Dundee.

Both teams have scored in seven of Ludogorets' eight Europa League games and entertainment could be on the agenda at Ibrox.
