He is everything you need to know about the tie…

Kick-off time

The game will kick off at 5:45 pm UK time at the Enea Stadion.

How to watch

The match will be aired on TNT Sports 1 and HBO Max (UK)

Sunderland team news

Brian Brobbey is still managing a hamstring problem while Dan Ballard and Romaine Mundle remain unavailable due to injury.

Wilson Isidor and Thomas Meunier were both back on the grass this week but did not partake in training with the rest of the team and remain doubtful.

Isidor’s ongoing recovery means that young Ukrainian Timur Tutierov is expected to lead the line for Sunderland.

Fellow under-21 teammates Jenson Jones, Tom Proctor and Jack Whittaker are set to be involved with the matchday squad after partaking in Wednesday’s training session.

Lech Poznán team news

The hosts are without their main striker as Allahyar Sayyadmanesh is currently injured, but while he did partake in individual training this week, he is expected to miss out on tonight’s game.

Fellow Iranian Ali Gholizadeh is also injured.

Poznán have further injury worries. Alex Douglas and Joao Moutinho are long-term absentees as well as 19-year-old Wojciech Mońka. Full-back Robert Gummy trained alone on Wednesday but is a doubt for the game.

What has Regis Le Bris said?

Regis Le Bris has spoke about Sunderland’s poor start to the domestic season with his side currently sitting bottom of the Premier League.

He said: “When we lose games we are not happy.

“I think this team has emotions, and this team cares a lot as well.

“It’s really positive to have reactions, and to try to find solutions because we still have a good team.

“We know how relentless this league [Premier League] is – when you make a few mistakes, then you get punished quickly. It was the case again at Bournemouth, so it’s important to understand, it’s important to work together.

“It’s important to share ideas as well, and tell the truth with each other.”

What has Niels Frederiksen said?

Lech Poznań head coach Frederiksen has insisted that the previous two 4-0 defeats in the Europa League, at the hands of Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen, do not match his team’s performances.

He said: “If we take into account the trip to London, we did lose heavily, but I wouldn’t rate our performance as reflecting that result.

“The match against Leverkusen was demanding for us, but I think they were the best team we’ve had the chance to play against so far.

“I’d like to emphasize that we’re not a team that will always focus on defence, but we want to show our style of play and not just stick to defence. We want to attack, create chances, and perform in line with our philosophy.

“We’re disappointed to have lost both matches and conceded eight goals, but we’re still in the Europa League. We have the belief and conviction to win.”

Predicted line-ups

Sunderland (4-3-3): Roefs; Hume, Danso, O’Nien, Methalie; Ahoka, Sadiki, Rigg; Angulo, Tutierov, Fofana.

Lech Poznań (4-2-3-1): Lis; Pereira, Skrzypczak, Yegbe, Gurgul; Murawski, Kozubal; Wålemark, Rodríguez, Palma; Ishak.
