Alphadjo Cisse spoke to the media this evening and said that Milan need to forget about the derby win and build on the momentum with more wins.

The derby win certainly put Milan and the fans on cloud nine, especially since it wasn’t just a narrow 1-0 win. However, they now need to put some of that confidence to use in the Europa League as they only have three points after three games.

Ferencvaros are the opponents this evening, travelling to San Siro for the first time, and it could be a tough one as they are on nine points so far. Ruben Amorim clearly has faith in some of his deputies, though, with six changes made to the starting eleven.

Cisse’s pre-match comments

Alphadjo Cisse is one of the players in the starting eleven and just a few minutes ago, he spoke to Sky Italia (via MilanNews) about the task at hand. He made it clear that Milan cannot keep thinking about the derby win, instead focusing on getting more wins.

How important is this match to you?

“It’s important for me and the whole team. We always try to play to our full potential.”

Have you put the derby victory aside?

“It was an important victory. But we need to forget about it and build on that momentum with a win. Getting the three points is important today.”

On the potential call-up for Italy…

“I actually don’t know anything yet, the squad list hasn’t been released yet. I’d be very happy if the call were to come. But I’m thinking about today and tomorrow will be another day.”
