Watch: Telstar defender Sem Valk scores a truly insane own goal
Sem Valk is having an afternoon to forget. The Telstar defender was unlucky with Fortuna Sittard's opener, then scored the own goal that made it 2-0.
After a long ball from Fortuna, Telstar win possession near halfway. Valk tries to play the ball back to goalkeeper Ronald Koeman junior, but gets it badly wrong.
His miscued pass flies into his own net from long range. Koeman junior tries to head it off the line, but cannot keep it out: 2-0.
Valk gets some relief before half-time as Telstar rally to 2-2 with two goals in rapid succession.
"This sounds strange, but I blame Koeman more than Valk for this," said Anco Jansen during the half-time analysis on ESPN. "Because he should just knock it away. Then it's only an indirect free-kick, but perhaps he doesn't know the rules."
