Van Bronckhorst surprises with a name at the back for Feyenoord

Feyenoord face a major Champions League clash with Inter. Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has named his line-up for the European encounter, which kicks off at 21:00 at De Kuip.

Tjark Ernst starts in goal against the Italian giants on Tuesday. Givairo Read plays at right-back and Javi López at left-back, with Thijs Kraaijeveld and Mika Mármol in the heart of the Rotterdam side's defence. Tsuyoshi Watanabe is therefore on the bench for the home side, while Jerry St. Juste is absent through injury.

Van Bronckhorst sticks with his usual midfield options. Charles Vanhoutte, Oussama Targhalline and the more advanced Gjivai Zechiël all start again.

Up front, there are no surprises either. Anis Hadj Moussa starts on the right as usual, with Luciano Valente on the left flank. Nacho Ferri provides the furthest-forward target against Inter's wily defenders.

Feyenoord dropped costly points against Fortuna on Saturday as their opponents snatched a point in the closing stages of a 1-1 draw. Inter suffered a setback in the Serie A title race, losing 3-1 in the derby against AC Milan.
