UEFA deliver final verdict on unusual request from PSV
PSV have registered Mikkel Bro Hansen for the Champions League, according to Ril Elfrink. Coach Peter Bosz confirmed the news at the press conference ahead of the match against RB Leipzig.
Last week, Bosz said he hoped to register Bro Hansen for the lucrative competition after Alassane Pléa suffered a serious injury. Pléa will not play again for the Eindhoven side this year.
The club submitted the request to UEFA last week and have now received approval. PSV can once again call on two strikers in Bro Hansen and Guus Til.
For the Eindhoven side, Sam Lammers is still unavailable, while Ricardo Pepi is also struggling with injury.
Seventeen-year-old Bro Hansen has yet to make his PSV debut, but has already played for the reserves in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
In two appearances for Jong PSV, he has started once and has neither scored nor provided an assist.
Bro Hansen joined from Bodø/Glimt last summer for €3 million. The Danish striker is regarded as a major talent and has a contract in Eindhoven until mid-2029.
