Feyenoord, PSV and NEC make use of unusual rule in the KNVB Cup
Feyenoord, PSV and NEC have opted to play their second-round Eurojackpot KNVB Cup ties at a later date, according to Voetbal International.
Originally scheduled for 1, 2 and 3 December, the second-round matches can move to 15, 16 or 17 December if clubs competing in Europe choose to postpone.
Ajax and FC Twente had the same option but turned it down. AZ will decide later whether to accept the offer.
In the cup draw, Feyenoord landed an away tie at GVVV, PSV will host Vitesse and NEC travel to Excelsior '31. None looks especially daunting, but all three clubs would rather play later in December.
A Conference League round on 17 December effectively ruled out postponement for Ajax and FC Twente. They will play their cup ties against FC Den Bosch at home and Fortuna Sittard away, respectively, in early December.
