Wilder reveals fresh Sheffield United injury blow

Sheffield United have been dealt an injury blow with Ryan One ruled out for a number of weeks with a recurrence of a hamstring problem.

The forward had recently returned to action, but Chris Wilder confirmed he has suffered another issue in the same area.

“We’ve had some disappointing news regarding Ryan,” Wilder said.

“It was the same spot that he got the initial injury, so a recurrence of that.

“He’s going to be out for a number of weeks, so disappointing for Ryan and disappointing for us.”

There was better news on Patrick Bamford, who is expected to be available after suffering a shoulder problem against Derby County.

“He took a big bang,” Wilder said.

“I said after the game for a centre-forward just after he scored to come off in that period of the game, shows it was a big bang.

“We’ve assessed him this week and we’re hopeful that he’ll be available for Friday.”

Mark McGuinness is also set to return after missing the Derby game following a head injury.
