Sheffield United star set for spell out injured
Sheffield United midfielder Joe Rothwell is set for a spell out after undergoing a minor operation.
Rothwell has been struggling with a groin issue and is expected to be sidelined until after the international break.
“Joe’s got to have a minor op that he’s going to keep him out until after the international break,” Wilder said.
“So he might miss the Watford and Southampton games.
“But the game afterwards, he will be available for selection. He just had a little tweak in the groin area and he went for a scan.
“So just a little tidy up in that area. And he’ll be back after the break.”
There was better news on Kalvin Phillips, who has returned to training and is available for selection.
“We’ve got a late fitness test on Pat, but Kalvin’s passed fit,” Wilder added.
“He trained yesterday. So yeah, Kalvin’s definitely on the train to London this afternoon.”
Patrick Bamford remains a doubt and will undergo a late fitness test after suffering a shoulder injury while scoring against Derby.
“We’re waiting to see regarding Pat today,” Wilder said.
