Stoke, Middlesbrough and West Brom are the only three sides to have won both Championship games so far
Six teams have still to collect a point in the Championship
Last season's beaten play-off finalists, Sheffield United, prop up the table
Only three clubs take 100% records into Week 3 of the Championship season, which gets under way on Friday when struggling Derby entertain high-flying Bristol City.
Following back-to-back wins, Stoke, Middlesbrough and West Brom will look to maintain their momentum against Southampton, Norwich and Portsmouth respectively.
While, at the bottom, pre-season promotion fancies Ipswich and Sheffield United will try to get their first wins on the board against Preston and Millwall.
We have got correct score predictions for all 12 fixtures, concluding with Sheffield Wednesday’s visit to Wrexham.
Derby vs Bristol City (Friday, 8pm)
Derby must have thought they had their first point of the season in the bag, at the very least, when they went 3-2 up against Coventry last Saturday.
But a complete capitulation followed — underlining how much work John Eustace still has to do.
The Rams boss will have more of his summer signings available on Friday, but they still might fall short against a Robins side that look solid in defence.
Score prediction: Derby 1-2 Bristol City
Charlton vs Leicester (Saturday, 12.30pm)
Nathan Jones’ newly-promoted Addicks have begun the campaign well and could maintain their momentum against a Foxes team that has quickly hit the buffers.
Two set-piece goals earned Marti Cifuentes’ side an opening weekend win over troubled Sheffield Wednesday, but those strikes papered over the cracks of a poor performance.
Leicester have lost eight of their last 10 away matches and on their last three visits to The Valley.
Score prediction: Charlton 2-0 Leicester
Hull vs Blackburn (Saturday, 12.30pm)
Hull have taken four points from two games and looked sharp at home to Oxford with new signing Oli McBurnie having a hand in all three goals.
Blackburn have yet to win and have looked vulnerable on the counter, especially down the flanks.
Score prediction: Hull 2-1 Blackburn
Swansea vs Watford (Saturday, 12.30pm)
Unbeaten in their last six home games stretching back to last season, Swansea might have too much about them for a Watford side that has shown flashes of quality but lack consistency.
A tight game could be settled by a set-piece or moment of individual brilliance.
Score prediction: Swansea 1-0 Watford
Birmingham vs Oxford United (Saturday, 3pm)
Oxford have shipped four goals in their first two Championship games and face a tough test at St Andrew’s.
Chris Davies has been calling his League One champions a ‘big blue machine’ and they could be a juggernaut that the U’s find too hard to stop on Saturday.
Score prediction: Birmingham 2-0 Oxford United
Coventry vs QPR (Saturday, 3pm)
Coventry finally look ready to live up to their pre-season billing as promotion contenders.
The Sky Blues blitzed Derby with three goals in a devastating seven-minute spell to earn a 5-3 win at Pride Park last week.
Winless QPR were unlucky not to take a point at Watford, but could add to the goalscoring if Richard Kone finds his feet at Championship level.
Score prediction: Coventry 3-2 QPR
Norwich vs Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3pm)
Boro will bid to follow up their fantastic 3-0 win at a fiery Den with another away-day special in East Anglia.
Norwich like to boss possession, but they might lack the cutting edge to be considered challengers this season.
Score prediction: Norwich 0-1 Middlesbrough
Preston vs Ipswich (Saturday, 3pm)
Preston protect their penalty area really well and could make it tough for Ipswich to claim their first win of the campaign in Lancashire.
But Kieran McKenna’s side play with more urgency than Leicester, last weekend’s vanquished visitors to Deepdale, and have a better chance of claiming a point.
Score prediction: Preston 1-1 Ipswich
Sheffield United vs Millwall (Saturday, 3pm)
Millwall knocked Sheffield United out of the top two when they won 1-0 at Bramall Lane back in April.
The consequences of that result are still being felt by the Blades, who have to start well to get their fans back onside after back-to-back defeats.
Millwall will be an awkward opponent for a side drained of confidence.
Score prediction: Sheffield United 1-2 Millwall
Southampton vs Stoke City (Saturday, 3pm)
Stoke face their biggest test of the season so far with a trip to St Mary’s, where Saints left it late to beat Wrexham on opening weekend.
Will Still may be Southampton’s best managerial appointment since Mauricio Pochettino and he can ensure his side come out on top in this clash of unbeatens.
Score prediction: Southampton 2-0 Stoke City
West Brom vs Portsmouth (Saturday, 3pm)
West Brom’s experience and physicality could be the key to victory against Pompey, who will miss injured striker Callum Lang this week.
Score prediction: West Brom 1-0 Portsmouth
Wrexham vs Sheffield Wednesday (Saturday, 3pm)
Wrexham are quickly discovering the cut-throat nature of the Championship and may still have more to learn.
The Owls looked much better in defeat to Stoke last week, where the 3-0 scoreline flattered the Potters, and should set their stall out for an away point.
Score prediction: Wrexham 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday
