Portsmouth star set to miss Sheffield United game

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has revealed Conor Shaughnessy is unlikely to feature against Sheffield United as the defender continues to recover from his injury.

Mousinho confirmed Pompey will have the same squad available for Wednesday night’s Championship clash as they did for Sunday’s game against Southampton, with Shaughnessy not expected to return in time.

“We’ll have the same squad to select from as Sunday,” Mousinho said.

“He’s fine. We’re just taking that one day-to-day at the minute so we’ll see how he is.

“It’s nothing long-term but there’s no point putting a timescale on it.”

Asked specifically whether Shaughnessy could face Sheffield United, Mousinho added: “Very unlikely.”
