Parkinson confirms Wrexham injury blow
Phil Parkinson has confirmed Josh Windass suffered ankle ligament damage in Wrexham’s draw with Derby, although the injury is not as serious as initially feared.
Windass was forced off after just 15 minutes at Pride Park after catching his foot in the ground, with the ankle swelling significantly afterwards.
“It’s very swollen and he’s had a scan. It’s not as serious as we first feared,” Parkinson said ahead of their game against West Brom.
“He caught his foot in the ground and damaged his ligaments.
“Josh is going to need time for that swelling to come out of the ankle joint.”
Parkinson says Windass is determined to return as quickly as possible after only recently building up his fitness.
“He’s eager to miss as little time as possible, as you can imagine, because he’d had his pre-season in those last few games before the international break and had a good three weeks,” he added.
