Nuno Espirito Santo admitted West Ham are going through a “tough moment” after their 3-1 defeat to West Brom.

The Hammers have now suffered back-to-back defeats and sit eighth in the Championship following Saturday’s loss.

“It was a poor performance,” he said.

“We started well, on the front foot, we had chances, but then everything became very hard.

“The moment that West Brom broke us with their first chance, they scored. We conceded too easily.

“It’s very concerning, and the message is totally the other way around. The idea is to start the game on the front foot.

“We have to improve in defence so we can try to score first.”

West Ham managed to respond before the interval with Jarrod Bowen equalising but Nuno was disappointed with their start to the second half.

“We were able to bounce back in the first half, but the beginning of the second half was the total opposite of what we expected,” he said.

“We wanted to go for the game, and they scored with the first real situation in the half, so it was tough.

“It’s a tough moment for us all.

“The last two results have been very costly for us.

“We have a clear objective, and every result we don’t achieve what we want, we get further from that objective, which is very difficult.

“We need to get back to getting results.

“We need to improve our game and win matches, so we can change our momentum.

“The only solution is results. We need to stick together, help each other and improve our game.”
