Nuno Espirito Santo gives optimistic updates on key West Ham duo

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed Jarrod Bowen is expected to be available against West Brom after recovering from an ankle problem suffered in training.

Bowen twisted his ankle earlier in the week and required treatment, but returned to training ahead of the game.

“Jarrod twisted his ankle in training,” Nuno said.

“He had treatment for a couple of days, but he joined us today, and he seems okay.”

There was also a positive update on Konstantinos Mavropanos, whose knee injury is not as serious as initially feared.

“It’s his knee,” Nuno said.

“We were concerned about his injury but thank god it’s not as serious as expected and he’s recovering quite well.

“Let’s see how long it takes. He was on the grass today by himself so it’s positive in some ways.

“We were afraid it was going to take longer but I think soon he’s going to be good.”
