Mousinho on double Portsmouth injury worry and ‘magnificent’ win over Swansea
Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has provided an injury update on Iyad Mohamed and Marko Milovanović after both were forced off during his side’s 3-1 Championship victory over Swansea.
Pompey continued their impressive run of form with an impressive victory at Fratton Park thanks to a double from Terry Devlin and substitute Thomas Waddingham adding a late third.
Mousinho was delighted with his side’s performance but admitted the result was slightly overshadowed by injury concerns after Mohamed and Milovanović both limped off in the second half.
“The response to their equaliser was absolutely magnificent and it’s a massive win that continues this run of good form,” he said.
“Marko has felt his thigh and we hope it’s not too bad because I thought he was excellent.
“It was his best performance in a Pompey shirt and he gave their two centre-backs an absolutely torrid time.”
Mousinho was more optimistic about Mohamed, revealing the decision to substitute him was precautionary after he experienced discomfort in his calf.
“Iyad has felt his calf slightly,” he explained.
“He might have been able to continue, but we didn’t want to risk anything and we’ll see how it settles down.”
