Eustace reveals latest Derby County injury blow
John Eustace has confirmed Derby County will be without captain Lewis Travis until next month, while Alex Mowatt remains a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United.
Travis suffered an ankle injury in last weekend’s defeat to Stoke City and has since undergone a scan.
“Trav’s going to be out until after the next international break,” Eustace said.
“That’s obviously a big blow to us over the next four games.
“It’s a different injury from the one that kept him out before. He went in for a tackle, and he’s just gone over on his ankle, unfortunately.”
Mowatt is also struggling ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane after cutting his foot in the defeat to QPR.
“Alex will be touch-and-go for the weekend,” Eustace added.
“He hasn’t really trained yet, so we’ll have to wait and see with him. He had a bad cut to the foot, and he’s had stitches in that, so we’ll see on that.”
Free agent signing Jack Robinson is pushing to be involved soon, meanwhile.
“It won’t take him too long to get up to speed,” Eustace said. “He’s a very experienced pro. He’s still kept himself in good shape, so let’s wait and see.”
