Alessio Dionisi has dismissed reports claiming he had been sacked by Watford as “fake news”.
The Hornets boss played down the speculation over his future and insisted such stories are simply part of football and life in management.
It comes after a run of four defeats in a row for Dionisi’s side.
“It is normal in England, in Italy and in other jobs for there to be news,” Dionisi said.
“There is good news, or bad news… or fake news, probably in this case.
“For the moment, it is fake news.”
Dionisi admitted, however, that the final decision over his position does not rest with him.
“But I don’t decide about this,” he added.
“I decide the line-up, my wife, and I decide for my life and my team.”
