Derby County dealt another significant blow as injury nightmare continues

Derby County boss John Eustace has revealed Sammie Szmodics will be out for around six weeks.

The forward becomes the latest player to join Derby’s growing injury list ahead of Friday’s game against Bolton Wanderers.

“If you look at the amount of injuries that the club have had over the first third of the season,” Eustace said.

“I don’t think it could have happened any other way.

“We lose Sammie Szmodics today for six weeks. He’s got to have knee surgery.”

David Ozoh, Joe Ward and Ryan Hedges are also expected to miss the Bolton clash.
