Clement provides updates on absent Norwich City players after win over Watford
Norwich City boss Philippe Clement says Kenny McLean, Pelle Mattsson and Oscar Schwartau are not expected to be long-term absentees after missing the 3-2 win over Watford.
Clement revealed McLean and Mattsson still need to be assessed and could return at some stage next week, while he is more confident Schwartau will be available for Tuesday’s game against Derby County.
“We need to assess that further, so it can be that during the game, during the next week that they will be back,” Clement said.
“It can also be not the case during the next week, but it’s normally not something long-term.
“Oscar Schwartau, I expect feedback for the Tuesday game.
“He had a neural problem, so nothing big, but he was not ready to play a game or play minutes now.
“But he got good treatment yesterday evening and he felt much better today. So, he will be fit for Tuesday.”
Clement was also full of praise for Mathias Kvistgaarden following his impressive performance against Watford in which he set up two goals.
“Yeah, he’s a very good example of that grit, tough, fire, and desire to win every duel, to keep every ball, to be brave on the ball, but also to be very difficult to beat in the duels and to put pressing and to be aggressive,” he said.
“Mati has made big, big steps in the last couple of months and he becomes better and better, so that helps the team.
“He deserves to get a trophy today, although there were several others also with a really good performance today.”
