Rob Apter is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

The winger will now begin his rehabilitation with the club’s medical team following the operation last week.

Manager Nathan Jones admitted the setback was a difficult one for Apter after the work he had put in since returning to the club during the summer.

“Rob has worked incredibly hard since returning to the club this summer, so this is a tough setback for him,” Jones said.

“He underwent surgery last week and will now begin a period of rehabilitation.

“He’ll have the full support of our staff throughout his recovery and everyone at the club is with him.

“We know he’ll approach this challenge with real determination and come back stronger.”
