Celestini hopeful of big Burnley boost for Cardiff clash – and provides update on others
Burnley boss Fabio Celestini is hopeful Zeki Amdouni will be available for Saturday’s game against Cardiff after making progress in his recovery from injury.
Amdouni has returned to training and could hand Burnley a welcome fitness boost, although Celestini says a final decision will be made after assessing how he reacts.
“I think he’s available,” Celestini told the Lancashire Telegraph.
“We want to see the reaction and talk with him but today was not a big training session.
“We will have to see tomorrow, but it’s positive.”
There was less encouraging news on Armando Broja, who Celestini expects to remain sidelined for longer.
“I think Broja is more long-term,” he said.
Bashir Humphreys is continuing to make progress and Celestini hopes he could return by the end of the month or early December.
“Humphreys too needs a couple of weeks.
“I think we won’t receive too many players back after the international break.”
“Humphreys is very close, I don’t know if it will be the end of the month but today he was smiling and happy and feeling great.
“I hope we can have Humphreys by the end of the month or maybe at the beginning of December, but he’s not so far.”
