Cardiff City boss Barry-Murphy gives positive Colwill update
Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy has confirmed Rubin Colwill has returned to full training following his spell on the sidelines.
The midfielder is working his way back after a difficult period with injury, and Barry-Murphy believes his return could be significant for Cardiff.
“A player of his calibre for us is huge,” he said.
“He’s a very important player for us and just gives us so much flexibility in how we can approach games with having him back fully fit.
“We haven’t rushed him, so he’s in a really good place and hopefully he will remain that way for the rest of the season.”
Colwill underwent ankle surgery last season and Barry-Murphy says Cardiff have had to be patient with his recovery.
“I think you just have to be patient because he’s had a very serious ankle surgery last season, which he made a remarkably quick recovery from,” he said.
“This season has been less straightforward for him.
“I know he’s shown signs that he’s in a really good place physically, and if we’re patient with him and build him up in the way that we will, then I’m sure he’ll be a huge player for us moving forward.”
