Burnley sack head coach Hayen after dismal start to season

Burnley have sacked head coach Nicky Hayen with immediate effect following a disappointing start to the Championship season.

The Clarets confirmed the decision in a short statement, bringing Hayen’s spell in charge to an end.

“Burnley Football Club has dismissed Head Coach Nicky Hayen with immediate effect,” the club said.

“The board has taken the decision following a disappointing start to the Championship season.”

Burnley were beaten 4-1 by Lincoln City on Saturday afternoon and have won just one of their opening 12 games of the Championship season.
