Mathias Jorgensen is set to return to Blackburn Rovers’ squad for their trip to Bristol City, Tony Mowbray has confirmed.

The forward has played just once so far this season because of injury problems but Mowbray says Jorgensen is now ready to be involved again at Ashton Gate.

“Not too much different. Jorgensen’s back on the bench for this game,” Mowbray said.

“With the travelling squad, we take one or two young lads and make a decision on that last substitute at the final moment, when it needs to be done.

“I’m pleased that the squad is looking much, much stronger and I’ve got some decisions to make.”

There was also positive news on Matty Litherland, who has yet to feature this season.

“He trained today, the first time really training with the group,” Mowbray said.

“It’s positive that he didn’t need an operation on his back and was out there today, doing pretty light work the day before a game.”

Yuri Ribeiro, meanwhile, is still recovering after being forced off in the win over Millwall last month.

Mowbray expects him to return to the grass in the next couple of weeks.

“I think two or three weeks,” he said.

“I talk to the physio department every day of course, but I think, a couple of weeks, he’d be back on the grass and pushing hard I’m pretty sure.

“He’s getting himself fit and working hard to get himself back into the scene.

“Maybe in a couple of weeks he’ll give himself a real chance to get back in and compete.”
