Tony Mowbray has confirmed Ryoya Morishita will undergo a scan after suffering an ankle injury during Blackburn Rovers’ 3-2 defeat to West Brom.

Morishita was forced off in the first half, with Mowbray concerned the problem was caused by a twist rather than a simple impact.

“I think he twisted it rather than a kick, so that potentially could be damage,” Mowbray said.

“It’s no good speculating; he’ll get a scan, and hopefully it’s not so bad, but we saw him hobbling off, so we’ll wait and see.”

Mowbray was also frustrated to see his side leave The Hawthorns empty-handed after feeling they had done enough to take something from the game.

“Just a bit frustrated we’ve got nothing from the game, and I think we deserve something,” he said.

“We had a decent turnout of supporters today with us, singing for most of the game, and then we obviously let them down a little bit at the death, so it was frustrating for them.”
