Fleetwood v Arsenal LIVE: Max Dowman tipped for Carabao Cup start against League Two strugglers
Arsenal could offer another opportunity to Max Dowman as they face Fleetwood Town in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The 16-year-old scored twice and was named player of the week as Arsenal beat Ipswich 4-2 in the previous round of the competition, with Arteta looking to rotate his team ahead of Sunday’s trip to Liverpool in the Premier League.
The champions will be expected to progress against League Two strugglers Fleetwood, who lie 18th in the fourth tier and some 84 places below the Gunners in the English football pyramid.
Arsenal have won 11 of their 13 games in all competitions this season and defeated Everton in the Premier League on Saturday thanks to goals from centre-backs Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Arteta, whose side were runners-up in the Carabao Cup last season, warned his players that they will need to be ready when they travel to Fleetwood. "We need to go there and win the game," he said. "Our reputation, our pride, everything is in play.”

Max Dowman to start for Arsenal?
The 16-year-old was named Carabao Cup player of the round for his two goals in the 4-2 win at Ipswich last month, both of them were stunning too.
The teenager has had to be patient, with three substitute appearances off the bench since, but the Gunners have been hit by injuries to attacking players with Bukayo Saka and Christos Tzolis sidelined.
Could that lead to an opportunity for Dowman this evening? Arsenal have packed their travelling squad with youth players and Mikel Arteta is expected to rotate against Fleetwood - with a trip to Liverpool to come on Sunday.
Is Fleetwood v Arsenal on TV?
Yes, it is. Coverage begins on Sky Sports Main Event from 7pm.
