The Moroccan shines and scores

Bayern Munich tore Magdeburg apart 6-1 at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening in the second round of the German Cup.

The hosts came flying out of the blocks and struck early. Michael Olise found the net in the 10th minute, finishing off a pass from Ismail Jakobs.

Magdeburg hit straight back, though. Mateusz Jokowski levelled in the 15th minute after Filip Chaves teed him up.

The Bavarians wasted little time reasserting themselves. Jakobs restored Bayern's lead in the 21st minute, this time on the end of an Olise assist, and the hosts went in front at the break.

Bayern turned the screw after the restart. Olise made it three from the penalty spot in the 51st minute, then Alphonso Davies added a fourth in the 70th minute, finishing a Lennart Karl pass.

Three minutes later, defender Nathaniel Brown made it five, converting after Davies had set him up.

Substitute David Santos rounded off the rout in the third minute of stoppage time (90+3'), latching onto a decisive ball from Josip Stanisic to score the pick of the night's goals and seal a historic six-goal haul at the Allianz Arena.

This emphatic win sends Bayern Munich into the next round of the German Cup in some style, laying down a marker in their hunt for silverware this season.
