David Gray's Hibernian are in the driving seat heading to sultry Skopje for the second leg of their Conference League third qualifying round tie against Shkendija.

Warren O'Hora's 90th-minute goal earned the Scottish Premiership side a 2-1 win at Easter Road last Thursday and now Hibs need to weather an onslaught from a side who are strong at home if they are to progress to the play-off round.

Team News

Five-goal Fabrice Tamba and Endrit Krasniqi, who started off the bench in Sunday's win at Vardar, should return to Shkendija's starting line-up.

Centre-back Bojan Dimoski has missed two games with a rib injury but could be fit.

Hibees' playmakers Jamie McGrath and Callum Wright came off the bench at Rangers after injuries so at least one is expected to get a first start of the season in Skopje.

Nicky Cadden could be available after a hamstring problem, but defender Rocky Bushiri remains an absentee.

The Stats

  • Shkendija have played three home games this season beating Europa (1-0) and Bravo Publikum (3-1) in the Conference League and FK Skopje (3-0) in the Macedonian First Division

  • Hibernian beat Kosovo side Malisheva in the second qualifying round, having lost the away leg 2-0

  • Hibs' excellent 2-1 win at Rangers at the weekend means they have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 10 matches

  • Over the last five seasons, European mainstays Shkendija have won nine and drawn three of their 15 home ties

Prediction

Over the last 12 months, Shkendija have beaten some good sides in Macedonia, which makes them a very real threat to Hibernian in sweltering Skopje.

Hibs have the edge courtesy of last Thursday's 2-1 triumph in Edinburgh.

But Shkendija have produced some great results at their European base, the National Stadium in the capital, with wins over the likes of Steaua Bucharest, Ludogorets Razgrad and Slovan Bratislava since the start of last season.

They create chances, they score goals, and while Hibs are acutely aware they deserve to be ahead in the tie after a decent performance at home, they are wary of what could be to come.

Marko Giorgievski has scored two in his last three, Fahd Ndzengue has two this season, while Senegal ace Tamba made it five for the campaign with a brace in Sunday's 2-0 win at Vardar.

They have goals from everywhere and will be positive in front of their own fans.

The upshot is that this could be a thriller. Hibs would dearly love to manage their way into the next stage, but a failure to keep a clean sheet in 10 suggests it might not be that straightforward.
