Le Bris hopeful of Sunderland star’s return against Chelsea

Sunderland boss Régis Le Bris is hopeful Nordi Mukiele will be available to face Chelsea on Sunday after going through concussion protocols.

Mukiele was forced off during the second half of Sunderland’s goalless draw with Leeds United, but could return on Sunday.

“Nordi should be available,” Le Bris said.

Le Bris also confirmed Thomas Meunier is in contention to start against Chelsea despite being withdrawn at half-time during Sunderland’s Europa League defeat to Hoffenheim.

“The substitution at half time was a bit different for Thomas,” Le Bris said.

“This was planned before the game just to manage his load for Sunday.”
