How Ballon d'Or winner Harry Kane has fared against Real Madrid in his career
Last night, Harry Kane pipped Kylian Mbappe to the post by winning his first-ever Ballon d'Or. He became the first English player to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001.
It is pretty impossible to dispute Harry Kane winning the award. He has been sensational for Bayern Munich, and he only seems to be getting better with age. You could say the same about Kylian Mbappe with Real Madrid, obviously, but unlike Kane, Mbappe went trophyless this year.
There was a world where Kane could have played for Real Madrid, but of course, we should never say never. Regardless, Real Madrid know what it's like to face the Englishman; here's his record against Real Madrid.
Harry Kane's record against Real Madrid
Harry Kane has scored three goals and provided three assists against Real Madrid across six games. He has an average of one goal contribution per game against Real Madrid.

Every time Harry Kane has faced Real Madrid
Across those six games, Kane has three wins, two draws and one loss.
The first time he faced Real Madrid was with Tottenham Hotspur. It was a group stage game at the Bernabeu, with the game ending in a draw courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty and a Raphael Varane own goal. In the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane, Ronaldo scored again but Tottenham scored three of their own, Dele Alli scoring twice alongside Christian Eriksen - many recognise this as being Tottenham's golden era.
Then, Harry Kane waited seven years to face Real Madrid again, this time with Bayern. In the 2024 semifinal, Kane scored his first goal against Bayern Munich, that being a penalty, with the first leg ending 2-2. In the second leg, Real Madrid won 2-1, with many Madridistas being able to recall the infamous Joselu brace to send Real Madrid to the final.
Bayern did get their revenge two years later, though. It was the Bavarians who eliminated Real Madrid in the 2025/26 season, with Kane scoring a goal each in the first and second leg.
Kane's biggest moments against Real Madrid
Without a doubt, the biggest moment for Harry Kane was scoring in each leg of the 2025/26 Champions League quarter-final. It was a great season for Bayern Munich and a horrid one for Real Madrid.
The most memorable for Real Madrid fans would be Joselu coming off from the bench to score a brace and eliminate Harry Kane's Bayern Munich in 2023/24.
How Kane's Real Madrid record compares with other European giants
His most notable opponent is Arsenal. Of course, he is a Tottenham legend, and he has a great history of scoring against Arsenal. Harry Kane has scored a whopping 16 times against Arsenal.
In the Champions League, Harry Kane has only scored more goals against PSV, Dortmund and Dinamo (4) than Real Madrid (3).
