AC Milan defender Koni De Winter is attracting interest from three top clubs in the Premier League, according to a report.
De Winter had a night to forget last night as he was among the worst performers in Milan’s 2-0 defeat to Ferencvaros. However, just a few nights prior he kept Marcus Thuram under wraps in the derby win over Inter, showcasing the levels he is capable of.
De Winter in demand
Performances like that seem to have attracted interest from clubs around Europe. The Daily Briefing are reporting that Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea are ‘all among the main suitors’ for the Belgian defender.
Premier League scouts are ‘closely monitoring him’ as he continues to be an immovable starter under Ruben Amorim. De Winter only joined Milan last season and is ‘not understood to be desperate for a move away’, but his name is one to watch if big offers start coming in.
In addition to Liverpool, United and Chelsea, the report goes on to state that Newcastle United, Tottenham, Leeds United and Brentford have had representatives there to watch him in recent games.
One source told them: “Koni De Winter is developing really well at Milan and there’s a lot of Premier League interest. He’s a versatile talent, but he’s now really making a name for himself as one of Milan’s three central defenders.”
