BREAKING: Top Chelsea star signs mega new deal in major commitment to club
Cole Palmer has extended his Chelsea contract and received a salary increase, according to David Ornstein.
It’s been a nice few weeks for Cole Palmer.
After pulling out of England duty he spent the last three weeks training in the Caribbean. This week he returned to Cobham to join his teammates – and today we’ve got word that the attacker has signed a new contract.
David Ornstein had the scoop for the Athletic.
A poor 18 months at Chelsea had meant doubts about his future, but a strong start to the season under new manager Xabi Alonso seems to have restored his confidence in the club and the club’s confidence in him, as this deal shows.
Palmer joins first team colleagues in agreeing new terms
Palmer had a deal signed just two years ago which ran until 2032, so this is just a one year extension and a salary bump. It’s already his third contract since signing for Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
It continues the club’s policy of locking in key players on new contracts even when they have many years to go. Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto and Reece James have all had similar extensions in the last 9 months. The core that Alonso wants to build around is clear.
In other news…
Palmer’s decision to pull out of England duty was widely criticised, but his manager defended him in the press conference.

Josh Acheampong was praised once again by Xabi Alonso in today’s presser – but will it mean a start for the defender tomorrow?
