Alonso confirms Chelsea fitness boosts ahead of Bournemouth
Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has handed his side a major fitness boost by confirming Moises Caicedo is ready to return to action.
Caicedo has used the recent break to work his way back to full fitness and Alonso says the midfielder is now available for selection.
“Yes, he’s ready to go,” Alonso said.
“We have used the time with Moi to get him back fit. He’s ready to go.”
Alonso also provided positive updates on Cole Palmer, Reece James and Joao Pedro, who have all returned to training and are in line to feature against Bournemouth.
“Yes, they have been able to train, some of them more than others,” he added.
“Marco Palestra as well. That was the plan.
There was less positive news on Jamie Gittens, however, with the winger ruled out of the next game after suffering an ankle injury.
“He’s not going to be fit for tomorrow, that’s the bad news,” Alonso said.
“He’s injured his ankle and he is going to be out for a few weeks.”
