A bad memory for the English side: referee announced for Manchester City v Paris Saint-Germain clash
A highly anticipated summit
Paris Saint-Germain lead the Champions League after their crushing 6-1 win over Slovan Bratislava, but a far tougher test awaits next Wednesday.
The European champions head to England to face Manchester City in a heavyweight continental tie that has been circled on the calendar for weeks.
A German will take the whistle. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA)have appointed Sven Jablonski for this second-round fixture, with compatriots Eduard Beitinger and Christian Dietz on the lines.
Jablonski has never refereed a Paris Saint-Germain game in the Champions League before.
He does know City, though. The German was in the middle last season as they lost 1-3 away to Bodo/Glimt in the group stage.
French fans have also seen him at work this season. Jablonski handled the first leg of the Champions League qualifying play-off between Fenerbahce and Olympique Lyonnais, which finished 1-1.
