Paris Saint-Germain secured their fourth consecutive win to open their Champions League campaign with a dominant 6-0 away win over Villareal. Goals from Désiré Doué, Joao Neves, Senny Mayulu, David Boly and a Fabian Ruiz brace helped them secure an easy win, with Paris leading 4-0 after 17 minutes.

Three main takeaways from Paris' magical European night

1- Another historic performance for PSG

The European Champions have secured their fourth Champions League victory in four games with their dominant display against Spanish side Villareal. After two massive 4-2 wins over both Man City and Barcelona, they delivered a historical performance away as they sank the Yellow Submarine.

Luis Enrique's side scored four goals in the opening 17 minutes of the game, with every goal coming in an eight minutes span. They left the result of this game to no doubt and realised something never done before in the history of the competition. The double Champions League winners now appear at the top of the League Phase table.

Additionally, the Parisians secured their 14 consecutive Champions League game without a loss, equalling a record held by Lyon, which was set between 2004 and 2006.

2- Paris look stronger than ever this season in UCL

In the last two League Phase campaign that led Luis Enrique and his team to their two consecutive titles in the Champions League, Paris somewhat struggled, failling to finish in the top eight in the first seaso before scrapping through in the second campaign. While it did not prevent PSG to win the competition later after two amazing knockout stage runs, it is the first time that the Parisians won their first four games to start the League Phase of the Champions League.

Furthermore, they did so without several key starters such as Nuno Mendes, Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who sustained injuries and managed to dominate both Man City and Barcelona, two favourites to win the competiton.

This team now looks stronger than ever under Luis Enrique's management and appears to be ready to defend their European title against any opponents that would get in their way.

3- Fabian Ruiz is a superstar

The Spaniard midfielder delivered once again a wonderful performance in the Champions League in the dominant display against Villareal, scoring a brace. After a disappointing 10th place finish at the Ballon d'Or, he dazzled in the Champions League and prove that he was one of the best in Europe at his position as he always manages to shine on the biggest stage whether it is with PSG or Spain.
