Nico Paz has scored his first ever Champions League goal on his second appearance in the competition, opening the scoring inside two minutes against Manchester United at the Stadio Sinigaglia on Wednesday evening.

Como vs. Manchester United was one of Wednesday evening’s early kick-offs, getting underway at 17.45 BST.

Paz has faced recent criticism in Italy for his lack of goals in 2026-27, despite the fact that he is now up to three goals and four assists from 10 appearances at club level, not forgetting the three goals he scored while on international duty with Argentina in September and October.

His first ever Champions League goal arrived on Wednesday night, finding the far corner of the net with his first shot of the game.

He received the ball from Lucas Da Cunha, coming in off the right flank, was allowed to take two touches on the edge of the United penalty area, before bending a left-footed effort past Senne Lammens into the far corner of the net.

Curiously, he is the second-youngest South American player to score against Manchester United in the Champions League, behind a certain Lionel Messi.
