Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig predictions: Mbappe magic may lead to a luckless night for Leipzig

Real Madrid's 4-3 win at Roma means they are a perfect two from two in the Champions League
After bouncing back from a defeat to Como with a win over PSV, Leipzig are three points behind their hosts
Real are unbeaten in four previous meetings with RB, winning three
Real Madrid's focus for the week will undoubtedly be Sunday's Clasico clash with rivals Barcelona.
However, manager Jose Mourinho has been around the block enough to keep his side focused on their first task, Wednesday's visit from Champions League rivals RB Leipzig.
Confidence will be high in the Real camp after they fought back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at Roma last week and a second heavy defeat could be coming Leipzig's way, after they were hammered 6-1 by Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Key Stats
Real Madrid have won nine straight home games
Los Blancos have scored exactly four goals in four of their six Bernabeu outings this term
RB Leipzig have lost their last four away games, conceding 15 goals
The Germans were trailing at half-time in each of those defeats

Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score has been a winning bet in three of this pair's four combined Champions League matches

Team News
Real Madrid's Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy and Raul Asencio are long-term absentees but there are no fresh concerns.
Christoph Baumgartner and Assan Ouedraogo miss out for Leipzig, who will be hoping for a moment of magic from Brajan Gruda or Antonio Nusa.
Need to know
This pair last met in the 2023-24 Champions League, with Real Madrid running out narrow 2-1 winners on aggregate before going on to lift the trophy for a 15th time.
That was also the last time Leipzig reached the knockout stages, as they lost seven of their eight games in the 2024-25 league phase and did not qualify for last season's edition of Europe's top club competition.
Prediction
Real Madrid have enjoyed victories over Italian giants Roma and Inter Milan in this season's Champions League and there is little evidence that Leipzig will stop Los Blancos' winning start.
Mourinho's men have been imperious at the Bernabeu, winning all six of their games since his return.
Four of those victories have seen Real lead at half-time and they can repeat the trick against RB, who were 3-0 down at the break in Saturday's 6-1 loss to Bayern.
Kylian Mbappe and the Champions League go hand in hand, and last season's Golden Boot winner can continue his fine form on Wednesday.
The French star netted 15 goals in the 2025-26 UCL and, having scored in each of Real's European outings and nine in as many La Liga matches this term, he is as close to an anytime-goalscorer lock as they come.
Willi Orban will be tasked with keeping him quiet but that is a big ask given the Hungarian's lack of pace.
Leipzig's captain has already picked up one yellow card in this season's Champions League, and trying to stop Mbappe may land him with another booking.
