Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan predictions: Hosts can end Inter's perfect start

Inter are one of just three teams to have won their opening four games
Atleti have won two, lost two in league phase so far
Recommended bet: Atletico Madrid to win
Atletico Madrid face the might of Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday and the hosts, who are on a roll with five straight wins in all competitions, can end the visitors' perfect start in Europe this season.
Inter have so far seen off Ajax, Slavia Prague, Kairat Almaty and Union Saint-Gilloise to sit proudly on 12 points from 12, alongside Arsenal and Bayern Munich, but taking on Atleti represents a much stiffer test.

Team news
For Atletico, Robin Le Normand is still sidelined by a knee injury, while Marcos Llorente and first-choice goalkeeper Jan Oblak are major doubts.
Antoine Griezmann was rested at the weekend against Getafe, but he should return to the side to partner Julian Alvarez up front.
Denzel Dumfries is still struggling with an ankle injury for the Nerazzurri, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian are both unlikely to return in midweek.
The stats
Inter have a perfect four from four winning record so far in this season's competition.
Atletico have lost to Liverpool (3-2) and Arsenal (4-0) away, but have beaten Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 and Union Saint-Gilloise 3-1 in the Spanish capital.
Inter have lost only one of their last 18 group/league matches in the Champions League (W13 D4).
Julian Alvarez has scored nine goals in 13 Champions League appearances for Atleti.
The sides' most recent meeting came in the 2023/24 Champions League last-16, when Atleti won 3-2 on penalties.

Prediction
Even though Inter are approaching this tie on the back of four straight wins in Europe, those victories came against marked easier opposition than they will come up against on Wednesday.
That is not to say the Italians, who were hammered 5-0 in last term's final by Paris Saint-Germain, are not a force to be reckoned with and they will head to the Metropolitano with plenty of confidence.
However, the hosts are in more need of a victory having won two, lost two so far and, on the back of five straight wins in all competitions, Diego Simeone's men can edge to an important victory.
