European football's governing body, UEFA, has settled the debate over the future of the most important match on the club football calendar in the old continent, the Champions League.

Allianz Arena: the final returns to Munich
The Champions League final heads back to Bayern Munich's fearsome home after years away. Holding more than 75,000 spectators, the Allianz Arena staged the famous 2012 final between Bayern Munich and Chelsea and is known for its legendary atmosphere and illuminated facade.
Picking Munich for 2028 crowns Germany's distinguished infrastructure and its success in hosting Euro 2024.
The new Camp Nou: the biggest event since its opening
The bigger occasion comes in 2029, when the Spotify Camp Nou hosts the Champions League final in its entirely new form.
That final will be the stadium's first global test once the massive renovation works are complete. The revamp will lift capacity beyond 105,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in Europe.
Barcelona last hosted a Champions League final back in 1999, when Manchester United beat Bayern Munich in that historic showdown at the same ground. This time it doubles as a global unveiling for the new Catalan project.
