Jude Bellingham joins elite company: The highest-scoring Englishmen in Champions League history
Jude Bellingham has broken into the top 10 highest-scoring Englishman in Champions League history.
A brilliant back-heeled goal against AEK Athens helped Real Madrid to a 3-2 win in Greece, and saw Bellingham register his 16th goal in the Champions League.
That goal has taken Bellingham into equal 10th for Champions League goals among English players, level with David Beckham. His 16th goal also equalled the mark of Belgian great Kevin De Bruyne.
It was a record-breaking night for Bellingham, who became the youngest player to reach 60 Champions League appearances, aged 23 years and 128 days. He also set a new landmark as the youngest footballer ever to score in seven consecutive Champions League campaigns.
In terms of English scorers in the competition, Bellingham now has Marcus Rashford, Andy Cole and Steven Gerrard in his sights as he looks to break the top five.
However, he has some distance to go to catch Harry Kane. The 2026 Ballon d'Or winner has scored 58 goals and counting in the Champions League, comfortably a record among English footballers.
