A brace from Can Uzun helped a clinical Eintracht Frankfurt towards a first victory of the new campaign at Mainz’s expense last weekend, so Die Adler should be a more confident outfit for the visit of Freiburg. The visitors have won a perfect three games out of three, and their 5-0 demolition job on ten-man Gladbach last time out put them top of the Bundesliga table. However, Frankfurt are a bit of a bogey team for Freiburg, who haven’t won any of the last eight competitive meetings between the clubs. Don’t be surprised if Julian Schuster’s side drop points for the first time on Saturday.

Hamburg are rock bottom after three games, following three defeats on the bounce, a glut of 12 goals conceded and zero goals for. They were torn to pieces for RB Leipzig (5-0) a week ago, though the club’s decision makers are set to back under-fire coach Merlin Polzin with a new contract. Despite that show of confidence, Hamburg are best opposed here. Hamburg have been averaging a league-low 8.67 shots per 90 minutes and their lack of cutting edge could leave them disappointed again.

Werder Bremen vs Augsburg (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
Werder Bremen earned a point at FC Koln (1-1) last weekend that they deserved on the balance of play, though their recent record against Augsburg is cause for concern. Die Fuggerstädter, who’ve won two and drawn one of their first three league tests, won 3-1 when they last visited Bremen in May and that was Augsburg’s second win on the spin at the Weserstadion. Stuttgart both created and conceded plenty of big chances in their 2-1 loss to Hoffenheim last time out, and that was their second defeat inside three rounds of Bundesliga fixtures. Their defending has been sub-par since the summer and only two clubs in the division have been conceding more shots per 90 minutes (19.70). Dortmund, who are on a five-game winning surge in all competitions, have yet to drop a point in the Bundesliga, and they have the tools to prey on Stuttgart’s vulnerability at the back.

RB Leipzig ran riot at home to Gladbach last weekend (5-0), though they lost two away games back-to-back before that at Como (UCL, 4-1) and Werder Bremen (BUN, 3-1), hinting at a possible weakness on the road. Leverkusen have won both of their home matches this term without conceding (4-0 vs Union Berlin, 2-0 vs Celje), and though a clean sheet might be harder to secure on Saturday, Die Werkself are capable of harnessing home advantage.

Fellow promoted outfit, Elversberg, have also been turning heads, starting the campaign with back-to-back wins before giving champions Munich (1-2) a run for their money when they were last in action. Both teams will see Sunday’s fixture as an opportunity to collect three points, though Schalke won both meetings with Elversberg in Germany’s second tier last term, and they could have the edge again.

Paderborn vs Hoffenheim (Sunday, 6:30 pm)
Paderborn were dismantled by Dortmund last time out and their 3-0 loss there could have been worse had their hosts not had a couple of goals ruled out for marginal offsides. Ralf Kettemann’s strugglers still haven’t scored themselves since their promotion and they are one of only two sides in the division yet to get off the mark. Hoffenheim meanwhile, scored twice in each of their first three league games of the season and should be on a high after last week’s 2-1 triumph over Stuttgart.
