Borussia Dortmund vs Werder Bremen (Friday, 7:30 pm)

Dortmund have won six games on the spin in all competitions since their loss to Bayern Munich in the Super Cup in August. The early Bundesliga pace setters have yet to drop a point in the Bundesliga, and last term, they beat Werder Bremen home and away without conceding (3-0, 2-0). Bremen should have first-choice keeper Karl Hein back on Friday evening, however, his inclusion won’t be enough to stem the tide at Signal Iduna Park.

Prediction: Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Werder Bremen (7/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Union Berlin vs Elversberg (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

Union Berlin limped into the international break, having collected just one point from their first four assignments of the new Bundesliga campaign. Defensively, they’ve been a mess, shipping a league-high 17 goals so far. Alongside the heavy criticism aimed in her direction, Head Coach Marie-Louise Eta is also dealing with injury issues at the back, so Union could be vulnerable again on Saturday. Surprise package Elversberg have only lost once since their promotion and that was in narrow fashion against Bayern Munich (1-2). They could upset the odds again when they visit the capital.

Prediction: Union Berlin 1-2 Elversberg (7/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Mainz 05 vs Bayer Leverkusen (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

Mainz have been outstanding on their travels in the campaign’s opening exchanges, though they’ve yet to win at home, while the reverse has been true for Bayer, who have claimed maximum points in Leverkusen, but failed to pass either of their first two Bundesliga away tests at Elversberg (2-3) and Augsburg (2-2). Both of these teams have been averaging 2.5 goals per game this term, while eight of their last nine encounters have produced 3+ goals. The attackers could take centre stage again in this one.

Prediction: Mainz 05 2-2 Bayer Leverkusen (15/2 with LiveScore Bet)

FC Augsburg vs Bayern Munich (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

Augsburg could go level on points with Bavarian neighbours Bayern Munich with a win on Saturday and the highflying Fuggerstädter will back themselves to ruffle the champion’s feathers. Manuel Baum’s side beat Bayern in Munich in January, and matched their hosts shot for shot on that occasion. A repeat result might be difficult to secure, however, Augsburg can make life awkward for Bayern again. Harry Kane, who scored six times for England during the international break, could be the difference maker again.

Prediction: FC Augsburg 2-3 Bayern Munich (19/2 with LiveScore Bet)

Paderborn vs VfB Stuttgart (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

Stuttgart fell on the wrong side of fine margins in back-to-back defeats to Hoffenheim (1-2) and Dortmund (0-1) before the international break, though friendly wins over Heidenheim (3-0) and Greuther Furth (5-0) in the meantime will have restored some confidence. They could get back to winning ways when they return to competitive action against a Paderborn side that blanked in three of their first four Bundesliga assignments of the campaign.

Prediction: Paderborn 0-2 Stuttgart (7/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Hoffenheim vs Hamburg (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

Hoffenheim and Hamburg have had similar troubles so far this season, with both teams losing three of their first four Bundesliga fixtures of the campaign. Hamburg’s away form has been particularly wretched, with convincing defeats at Dortmund (3-0) and RB Leipzig (5-0) leaving them bruised. Hoffenheim managed to win their last home contest against Stuttgart (2-1), while they also claimed six points from their two meetings with Hamburg last term. It makes sense to side with the hosts again here.

Prediction: Hoffenheim 2-1 Hamburg (6/1 with LiveScore Bet)

RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday, 5:30 pm)

RB Leipzig were beaten three times in their final four matches in all competitions before the international break, a run that heaped pressure on head coach Martin Demichelis. With former boss Julian Nagelsmann rumoured to be waiting in the wings, Demichelis needs a win against Frankfurt on Saturday to dampen the gossip. Home advantage could be key here and Leipzig should have chances against a Frankfurt defence that has already conceded double-figure goals (10) after just four games.

Prediction: RB Leipzig 3-1 Eintracht Frankfurt (7/1 with LiveScore Bet)

FC Koln vs Borussia Monchengladbach (Sunday, 2:30 pm)

New Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach Alexander Blessin faces a baptism of fire on Sunday when he leads his charges into battle for the first time in the Rhine Derby. Gladbach are rock bottom of the Bundesliga, having started the season with four successive defeats. Blessin must plan for the derby without influential injured winger Franck Honorat, while defender Ko Itakura is nursing an ankle complaint and is a doubt. Gladbach also haven’t won at the RheinEnergieStadion since 2020 and we recommend opposing them again on Sunday.

Prediction: FC Koln vs Borussia Monchengladbach (6/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Freiburg vs Schalke 04 (Sunday, 4:30 pm)

Freiburg have been in superb early-season form, winning six and drawing one of their first seven games across the Bundesliga and Europa League. Julian Schuster’s slick side rank second for goals scored (12) and third for goals conceded (3) in the division, and in Igor Matanovic, they have one of the league’s form forwards. Schalke have been dogged in comparison, though they have failed to score in three out of four top-flight games since their promotion. Freiburg can see their toothless visitors off at Europa-Park Stadion.

Prediction: Freiburg 2-0 Schalke 04 (13/2 with LiveScore Bet)
