Elversberg vs Mainz 05 (Friday, 7:30 pm)

It’s been a tough week for Elversberg, who are reeling from successive defeats to RB Leipzig (0-4) in the Bundesliga and Darmstadt (0-2) in the DFB Pokal. The newly-promoted outfit could feel the squeeze again when they host away-day specialists Mainz. The visitors are built for counter-attacking and have collected a league-best nine points from nine on the road so far, netting ten times along the way. Back Mainz to edge a thriller at Ursapharm-Arena.

Prediction: Elversberg 2-3 Mainz (21/2 with LiveScore Bet)

FC Augsburg vs Freiburg (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

Augsburg had to be content with a point against Union Berlin (1-1) last weekend, after losing defender Juma Bah to a red card. They responded with a 4-2 win over lower-league Grossaspach in the cup in midweek, however, they’re now gone five games without a victory in the Bundesliga. Freiburg meanwhile, were outclassed by Bayern Munich (1-3) last time out and that was their third loss in a row in all competitions. Their early-season surge seems to be losing momentum, and they could drop more points at Augsburg.

Prediction: FC Augsburg 2-2 Freiburg (15/2 with LiveScore Bet)

Werder Bremen vs Hoffenheim (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

The Bundesliga’s leading marksman Niclas Füllkrug scored his 7th and 8th goals of the new campaign in Werder Bremen’s 3-2 triumph at Mainz last weekend, and he scored twice again in a cup loss at Dortmund (2-3) in midweek. With the prolific veteran spearheading, Bremen can go toe-to-toe with Hoffenheim. Each of the visitors’ first seven Bundesliga fixtures have produced at least three goals, so expect more excitement when Hoffenheim feature at the Weserstadion.

Prediction: Werder Bremen 2-2 Hoffenheim (17/2 with LiveScore Bet)

Bayer Leverkusen vs VfB Stuttgart (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

Stuttgart’s early-season struggles continued last weekend when they lost 3-2 at home to Gladbach. That was the club’s fifth loss in seven Bundesliga assignments and head coach Sebastian Hoeneß expressed concerns about his side’s complacency in the aftermath. Bayer Leverkusen, who have a 100% record at home so far, are good enough to capitalise on their visitor’s fragility. Die Werkself were humbled at Hoffenheim (0-3) in their last league test and have a point to prove here.

Prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 Stuttgart (8/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Paderborn (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

A decisive strike from 17-year-old Wael Mohya allowed Gladbach to end their wait for a first league win of the season at Stuttgart’s expense last weekend (3-2), and Die Fohlen followed that victory up with another against Karlsruher (2-0) in the cup in midweek. Energised by those back-to-back successes, the Bundesliga’s bottom club, Gladbach, can push for more against a Paderborn side that is still winless on the road.

Prediction: Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 Paderborn (19/2 with LiveScore Bet)

Schalke 04 vs RB Leipzig (Saturday, 2:30 pm)

RB Leipzig simultaneously hold the Bundesliga’s best home and worst away records so far this season, however, they have a chance to improve their travel log on Saturday. Schalke have won only once and have scored just four times in seven games since the summer. Leipzig demolished Elversberg 4-0 last weekend and only Bayern Munich (25) have outscored Die Roten Bullen (20) overall. Back Martín Demichelis’s side to overpower another promoted side on Saturday.

Prediction: Schalke 0-2 RB Leipzig (8/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund (Saturday, 5:30 pm)

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both take unbeaten starts into Saturday’s Der Klassiker, though the Bavarians did topple their rivals in the Super Cup (2-1) curtain raiser at the start of the campaign. That was Bayern’s third win in a row over Dortmund, though all three victories were decided by a single-goal margin. With newly-crowned Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane in tow, Bayern might have the edge again here, even with head coach Vincent Kompany still laid up.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 2-1 Borussia Dortmund (13/2 with LiveScore Bet)

Union Berlin vs FC Koln (Sunday, 2:30 pm)

Familiar foes Union Berlin and FC Koln meet for the second time inside the space of a few days. It was one-way traffic in their first encounter in midweek, when Koln hammered Union 5-0 in the DFB Pokal. The manner of that loss is bound to have an impact on Saturday’s rematch. Union struggled to handle Koln’s two-goal hero Said El Mala on Tuesday and the same player can lead the charge in the capital.

Prediction: Union Berlin 0-2 FC Koln (19/2 with LiveScore Bet)

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Hamburg (Sunday, 4:30 pm)

Sunday’s primetime fixture is another do-over from midweek. Frankfurt and Hamburg met on Tuesday evening in the DFB Pokal, and Die Adler came out on top there, earning a 3-1 win after an end-to-ender in Hamburg. With home advantage this time around, Adi Hütter’s side will be favourites to win again on Sunday, however, they did concede six big chances in the midweek cup clash, so don’t be surprised if the scoreline is a little closer.

Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 Hamburg (19/2 with LiveScore Bet)
