Celtic midfielder Mika Baur has been named in Germany’s Under-21 squad for this month’s international fixtures after missing out on the latest senior selection.

The 22-year-old has been included in Antonio Di Salvo’s 23-man squad for upcoming matches against Belgium and Croatia, as preparations continue for next summer’s European Under-21 Championship.

Baur had previously been included in Jurgen Klopp’s extended 44-man senior squad for the September and October internationals, raising the possibility of a breakthrough at full international level.

Although the Celtic midfielder has not made the latest senior squad, his return to the Under-21 set-up ensures he remains firmly in Germany’s international plans.

The call-up follows another impressive performance from Baur in Celtic’s 3-2 Europa League victory over Besiktas on Thursday night, with the midfielder continuing to establish himself as an influential figure in Martin O’Neill’s side.

Baur will join up with his international teammates following Celtic’s weekend fixture, with Germany Under-21s facing Belgium in Essen on November 13 before travelling to Croatia on November 17 for their final match of 2026.
